What people say about us
Below are just a few comments from our former children and from the professionals that we have had the pleasure of working with.
safe and
happy living space
Travis - I was in support of Residential Care Next Generation Care Essex, from the age 16 to 18. It was honestly the best part of my childhood. I came into their care with no understanding of anything terrified of having to learn how to take care of myself as well as figuring out what I was going to be doing with myself. They changed everything from meeting Andrea who became the single most important support person in my entire life to meeting Alex, the woman who taught me how to brush my teeth correctly and how I need to handle my hygiene because no one taught me these things as a child. Patrick was there nearly every night. Most nights I felt alone but having him watch movies with me when I had no friends and eating pizza took me to the gym for the first time to figure out how I could start losing weight to feel more confident about myself as I suffered severely with mental health issues. The point I'm trying to make here is I wouldn't have turned from a child into the adult I am today without their help. I am now 26 years old. I am still in contact with them and I could only imagine they have continued to get even more amazing people to help more kids who were in similar positions to me.
I also wanted to say that after writing my review, and to Andrea in particular, thank you for everything, for being there for me because honestly, without you in my life I don’t think that I would have went down a good path so thank you so much.
Travis

As my time comes to an end in supporting ?, I would just like to thank you and your team for the educational support you have provided . Driving him to school, staying in the area, in case you are required to support, facilitating tuition in the home as well as off site venues. Before ? came to you, he had several different placements and never settled into them, since being with you, although he has been really challenging at times, he has grown and matured a lot, and I know his school place would have been in jeopardy many times if you had not stepped in and supported his education and his social and emotional wellbeing at home. It has been a pleasure working with you.
Linda Jolley - Virtual school
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Alex and the entire care team for their outstanding support, professionalism, and dedication. Their collaborative approach, adaptability, and unwavering commitment have played a vital role in the successful integration and ongoing stability of the ? placement in both school and care.
Alex and the team have been brilliant from the start: supportive, flexible, and always willing to work with us to find the best way forward. It's clear how much they care, and that’s made a real difference. Because of the positive working relationship, we’ve built together, ? has been able to make progress at school and has made great strides – both emotionally and academically.
Alex, your communication has been excellent – always quick to respond and ready to help with whatever’s needed. You've helped create a joined-up approach that’s made everything feel much more manageable and consistent for everyone involved.
We really value the partnership we’ve developed with you and your team, and we’re so grateful for everything you’ve done to support this placement.

Since ? has joined Next Generation Care Essex Ltd he has thrived in all areas. Staff are committed and focused on building strong relationships with ?. They advocate excellently for ?. The home has given ? the belonging and sense of self-importance he has desperately needed for so long. Before coming to The home, I was worried about ?’s future however the therapeutic care and personalised care he is received has open endless opportunities supporting ? into adulthood. For the first time ? feels understand and listened too. The home has a great understanding of ?

Whilst I have only been working with you and your team and ? for the last 4 months – I have been impressed by the dedication of you and your team.
? will certainly miss you and your team. You should be justly proud of the work you have done over the last 3 years including his preparation for independence.
Over the last 4 months we have had to navigate the often complex journey of planning ?’s move to a SIA. I have been really impressed by your partnership work, your eye to detail, your insight to risk, your warmth as a provider and your advocacy for ?.
Can I thank your and your team for all your hard work and significant part you have played in
?’s life.
Paz Ahluwalia - Social Worker

? is doing very well at the home, she is more stable than I have seen her in years, and I believe that is because of the relationships she has built with the staff in the home, the way they communicate with her and respect her. From my observations she has a particular good relationship with the homes manager Tesha. Her use of humour works for her and helps defuse situations. The home has communicated well with me as the IRO and contributes meaningfully to the last CLA Review.
LAC Review Officer - Debbie West
It has been such a pleasure working with you and your team of staff around ? over the nearly three years that he has been placed within your service. I am aware of ?s complex needs and how you and your staff have over the years managed to support and stabilise him. I am pleased to comment on the fact that your service has been the only provision that has been able to offer ? sustained stability over a significant period of time since he came into care.
Not only that, you supported him during the most difficult times of his life when he lost both parents within a space of six months. It was incredible how your therapeutic and consistent caring approach offered ? the time and space to grieve and overcome the overwhelming emotional distresses that he went through.
It has been reassuring, how you have consistently ‘stuck with him’ even during periods where other providers would have given in. It has not always been easy working with ?, but you have always enabled him the opportunity to reset and reconnect with the staff team which I believe has given ? the sense of acceptance and belonging and consolidated his ability to develop some meaningful relationships with you and your team, something he has not been able to achieve with the numerous placements he has been previously.
I do hope that, with the foundation you have offered him, ? would be able to look back in the future, as he moves on and reconnect with you and some of your staff, if not all and I am pleased to know that this is something you are open to.
As ? spends his last days with you at the home, it is my hope that he would be able to reflect on some of his experiences with you and hold unto those memories which would support his future relationships with yourselves.
It has been such a pleasure working with you and your team and although we have not always agreed on some matters, we have always remained focused on what is best for ? and have worked strongly together as a ‘network around the child’ which is evident in the stage that he is right now.
As a service, we are thankful for your hard work and efforts and I hope that our paths cross again in the future as we remain in this profession.
Many thanks to you all !
Julie Dzontoh - Social Workers Manager
Hi Little Trees
Just a quick thank you to you and all your colleagues with ? this year.
A shame I couldn't say bye to ? properly but I understand there are a lot more pertinent issues right now.
I would like to wish you all the very best for the future.
Alex Drennan - School Teacher
"Everything that the home is doing is brilliant... there are no additional actions that we can identify. You're doing everything, if not more than what would be recommended."
It was recognised that ? current risks are largely community based and cannot be managed solely through residential care interventions.
