Next Generation Care (Essex) Limited is committed to providing a highly supportive and non-judgmental environment that is nurturing and supportive of the child through adolescence and beyond, helping them towards well-adjusted and self-sufficient adulthood.”
Our Ethos and Philosophy
Next Generation Care (Essex) Limited place the child at the centre of their work and strive to create the best residential experience for them. Although we do not emphasise a single theoretical model, our practice is informed by both psychodynamic and learning theory, PACE and DDP are rooted within a residential culture that places great value on caring, openness and honesty and encourages adults in the home to be inquisitive and search for the meanings behind the behaviour. From a psychodynamic perspective we will promote appropriate personal relationships between adults and children and provide them with opportunities to talk to adults, both individually and in groups.
As trust develops, we hope to be able to help children identify and understand what is happening, or has happened to them, in relation to such issues as development, upbringing and relationships. We support children to share and explore the underlying nature of their troubles and by gaining insight begin to change some of their own attitudes, behaviours and expectations. From a learning theory perspective, we will set and maintain clear behavioural expectations and boundaries, using appropriate sanctions, or consequences to enforce them. Agreed consequences will be used to dissuade undesirable behaviours such as restricting the use of gaming equipment, with positive consequences, and rewards, used to encourage desirable behaviours. Reliable, mature, approachable, and consistent adult role models are essential to the success of this learning process. Working with nurture and structure, we aim to equip our children with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices. We will enable and support them to develop their autonomy and advocate for them where needed.
...a small team that makes a difference...

We will work in partnership with parents, carers, professionals, the public and children themselves to give them the chance to live a constructive life within the community. At all times we provide a high standard of support, delivered in a sensitive, thoughtful, and consistent way.

Accommodation
Each child has their own bedroom, allowing for both privacy and security. Bedrooms are fully equipped and provide a space to relax and to be afforded some privacy in what we and hopefully they consider their safe space. For safety reasons, Adults in the home can gain access to bedrooms.
Child’s Rights
We believe that all children, whatever their background, ethnicity, or gender, have the right to be treated fairly, equally and with respect. All children living within our homes have the right to live their lives free from abuse, fear and oppression and to experience safety and security. They have the right to be heard, and they will be listened to. At all of our homes, we encourage our children to advocate for themselves with support from our adults in the home and outside agencies.
